The Secret We Share

I have a secret to share. Not a really gooey, skeleton-in-the-closet secret. Sorry. Nor is this the type of secret that is locked away in a journal – far from prying eyes. This secret is a simple desire, a truly simple desire. I don’t think I am the only one with this secret. I will crack it open and we can examine the secret together. Here it is: Clone me. No really, clone me. There! It is out of the proverbial bag. That is my secret aspiration.

First blog post

Welcome on my journey!

I wish I could say my life has been a well laid-out plan of goals and accomplishments. Not so. Sure there have been goals achieved and pursuits fulfilled, but overall, my life’s journey has been more of a meandering path driven by curiosity and a why not attitude.

This blog comes after many years of teaching in a variety of roles. One thing I know for sure is that I learn most from and with others. Collaboration inspires me! I hope to provide a place to humbly share thoughts, tricks, and observations about the changing dynamics technology is bringing to the classroom to reach all learners.

Most of my teaching experience is as an elementary classroom teacher. I have spent several years working with struggling middle school readers, too. Learning to me is a puzzle needing to be solved. And, nothing feels better as an instructor than when a learner finally gets it! With this blog, I am hoping other instructors will join me in the pursuit of that magical moment when the eyes light up, the training wheels come off, and learner starts pedaling down the road to academic success.
